TAZ Entertainment started out as TAZ Publicity & Promotions in Western Australia in January 2006 and became TAZ Entertainment in May 2007 due to rapid growth and development.
Initially, whilst still predominantly, promotes theatre and music events in WA both professional and amateur in both regional and the metro area.
Now TAZ has grown significantly with several requests from the eastern states of Australia and overseas interested in our services.

TAZ Entertainment assists in the promotion of those artists and shows who seek that extra professional touch in publicity.

TAZ Entertainment is still young in its major development of musicians and artists, however significantly strong in the WA theatre world.

For now - TAZ has a regular weekly service called MMOA (Mad Melz Out & About) that is sent out freely to theatre and music lovers in WA who subscribe (yes it's free). You can also list your WA theatre and music events for free if your production is showing that week. If you would like pre-show publicity then get in touch with our team.

Director, Melanie DeCull has been involved in theatre and music for over 25 years initially as a performer in theatre, voice and dance and then onto director, choreographer, publicist, musician, and occasional writer.

In her teens she was in the State Youth Theatre Company at the Hole In The Wall Theatre, State Youth Theatre Dance Co., attended the WA Academy of Performing Arts in various workshops, studied Cert III in Music Industry at Curtin Uni in Kalgoorlie, worked at 96FM and Channel 9 Perth, and has performed in countless community theatre productions and has been in several professional productions, adverts, voice overs and training videos.

She co-founded and was the original publicist for the Kalgoorlie Blues Club, a committee member of the Unreel Film Club, Goldfields Repertory Club, Garrick Theatre Club, Independent Theatre Association, and more...

Melz was also one of the original directors of BAR Promotions, teaming up with musician, promoter, artist manager, song evaluator and plugger Jillian Jake - promoting Australian Blues & Roots music globally until such time that TAZ P&P took off in such a way, she needed to devote her time to one fabulous project and not two. THE BEGINNING OF TAZ P&P:

TAZ Publicity & Promotions ("TAZ") is an initiative by Melanie DeCull ("Melz"). Melz has been deeply involved in the entertainment industry for over 25 years, as a performer, actor, musician, director, publicist, newsletter editor, choreographer, organiser and promoter in both amateur and professional circles and in all types of media, community and commercial.

Melz grew up in the hills of Perth, back in the days when Kalamunda was referred to as the stix! Everyone felt they were 'stuck', with nothing to do, no place to go, and felt secluded from life and activity. After leaving Kalamunda for city life, many years later she found herself living in Coolgardie and then Kalgoorlie (600kms east of Perth). Although Kalgoorlie is a city with a population of over 32,000 people - a large distance separates one city life to a much larger other, again that feeling of seclusion was there.

Upon returning to Perth in late 2003, Melz decided to try and link Perth city with regional Western Australia, to make sure everyone feels included in the bigger picture and to encourage the citi-ites to travel and see the wealth of talent on offer outside their normal square.

THE DEVELOPMENT TO TAZ ENTERTAINMENT:

TAZ Entertainment ("TAZ") was born on 25th May 2007.
And just keeps on growing... stay tuned for more terrific updates.

MMOA is a weekly email service that informs those whom have freely subscribed, and wish to be notified and kept up to date with what is on out and about in metro and regional Western Australia in both professional and amateur theatre and music events.

What does TAZ stand for ?
I could make up something here... Theatre And Z'arts - LOL.
TAZ doesn't stand for anything except for being an old nick name of mine.
However 'TAZ' is definately developing it's own persona... some of my clients have described me as a tornado... which has been quite flattering... and when you think of that cartoon character 'Taz Devil', kind of makes sense doesn't it.
